Apprentice to Master Artist S.H. Rogoff the father of coloured Op Art, discoverer of the double or reverse after-image, Yellow Diamonds-1952 published in J.Albers 'Color Interaction' booklet -1952. As Albers teaching assistant charged with putting the booklet together 3/4ths of modules were the specific works and contributions of Hal's (Albers had a fond picasso like habit of not allowing proper acknowledgement of whose works were who's) Hals thesis at Yale in 1952 is titled "Optical Illusions and Vibrational theory" Essentially the governing rules still in existence and by scientific standards still unchallenged (Yellow Diamonds is accessible per about one third of the USA's Psych 101 text book used at universities - and I do like the occasions when visitors at the Bruce Goff Castle occasional actually having seen and gassed out on the unit of knowledge which holds true til the end of time). Hal furhter more established the actual nature of the color white, corrected the concept of 'Simultaneous Contrast' redefining to include the concept of 'Simultaneous Presence' Last time I spoke with Hal the number of concepts on color established by him is at 26. As artists hold the highest position of societal impact range function one of his direct contributions to society was the present use of color on Highway Safety Sign in America, (with the congressman pointing out to Hal "They will have saved a lot of lives"), Color TV is basically an interpretation by a technician of Hal's color theory mostly in error because of jumping backwards to subtractive theory when dealing with a dubious usage of getting a false brown per mixing red and green when in the full spectrum of color browns lays between orange and yellow acting curiously as an energy drop and the human the mind has no particular direct evolutionary pathway for distinctive perception of brown.

Brown like Gray allows for negative after-image and when using my main design has positive plus functions perceptually. (Currently my computers have been on a fritz one requiring a full restore and my main art computer is waiting for analysis. Disturbed also to have a floppy disk device breakdown. So til I get repairs up some of my works are notable on a flickr page of a guest. http://www.flickr.com/photos/katz_42/sets/72157602707075613/?page=3

Glen,

I´m very pleased you appreciated, commented and analysed the work "Assimilation".

In the matter of fact, somehow, your interpretation and my intention are close to each other as  in fact it is nature ...in motion ... to me, it represents a moment of absortion and transformation of matter.

I´m glad the picture remind you  so many impressions and so many thoughts. I´m impressed and I thank you for your analysis.

Hi Glen

The place for the small bio is the same for the biio more deatiled... it's a choice of the artist.

The questions are important to manage our database. I admit it may seem confusing :)

In fact, I need those information.... if I'm talking to an artist who makes a profession of art or if is an artist self-taught.

The way the registry is set upserves perfectly the objectives of managing the site; I apologize for any confusion that may caused.

Hugs

Francisco
